Ok, you have printed out your pattern and checked the size (some printers will shrink or enlarge when printing) Hubby did not measure mine so mine are 3.25" from dash line to dash line:
Step by step pp (Picture heavy!) 110

next take some handy water soluble glue stick ... best friend of pp Wink
and glue your fabric to the back of the pattern. The first time I tried this no one said to use the back and OMG did it give me grief! Make sure the fabric is right side up and extends past the black lines on the front. Hold it up the the light if you need to.
Step by step pp (Picture heavy!) 210

Next fold the paper on the black line between #1 and #2. We are painting by numbers using fabric Smile
Step by step pp (Picture heavy!) 310

Now we place fabric #2 face down to fabric #1. Make sure it extends past the back line by at least 1/4 inch on all sides. This is tricky but once you do it you will understand better.
Step by step pp (Picture heavy!) 410

Now we will sew on the black line. Make sure you sew a couple of stitches past the beginning and end of the solid line.
Step by step pp (Picture heavy!) 510

    next post...

    Ok, lets try again...

Now set your stitches and then press your block with the fabric folded back.
Step by step pp (Picture heavy!) 611

Next fold the paper again along that black line so you can trim your fabric 1/4 inch. It helps eliminate the bulk and makes lining up the next piece easier.
Step by step pp (Picture heavy!) 711

    Now all trimmed Smile
Step by step pp (Picture heavy!) 810

Next fold over the paper for line #3... repeat...
Step by step pp (Picture heavy!) 910

Step by step pp (Picture heavy!) 1010

    and then
Step by step pp (Picture heavy!) 1110

    New post Smile

Repeat following the numbers. If need be refer to the color picture with the pattern. My hubby printed mine out in black and white so I was guessing the whole time LOL!

Make sure you trim the excess way between lines to help cut down bulk and make it easier on yourself for lining up the next piece.
Step by step pp (Picture heavy!) 1210

When you have finished following all the numbers and your block is pressed, trim just on the dotted/dashed line:
Step by step pp (Picture heavy!) 1310

And wallah! Your bock is complete Smile
Step by step pp (Picture heavy!) 1410

DO NOT RIP THE PAPER OFF
until you have it sewn in your quilt top. If you need to, you can sew in between the dashed and solid line around the border especially if you plan to use this for a coaster. Mine is being set aside for my wall hanging one day Very Happy
