Beef and Bean Sprouts (TNT) Empty Beef and Bean Sprouts (TNT)

This is an old family favorite from my 1982 Southern Living Cookbook!

Beef And Bean Sprouts

½ lb. boneless round steak

3 TBSP vegetable oil

½ cup chopped green onion

½ tsp. seasoned salt

½ tsp. garlic powder

1 pound fresh bean sprouts, washed and drained

½ cup sliced mushrooms

1 small green pepper, cut into ¼-inch strips

¼ cup water

3 to 4 TBSP soy sauce

1 TBSP vinegar

1 TBSP cornstarch

Hot cooked rice

Partially freeze steak; slice across graint into 3x½-inch strips.

Heat oil in large skillet over medium heat; add green onion, and stir-fry 1 minute. Add steak, seasoned salt, and garlic powder; stir-fry 4 minutes. Add bean sprouts, mushrooms, and green pepper; stir-fry 3 minutes.

Combine next 4 ingredients, mixing well; add to bean sprout mixture. Cook, stirring constantly, for 3 minutes or until thickened. Serve over rice.

Yield: about 4 servings
