    German Sausage Chowder

    Prep Time: 20 minutes
    Cook Time: 40 minutes
    Makes: 8 servings
"Yummy and warm...Polska kielbasa, potatoes and Swiss cheese make up this satisfying chowder. This is also delicious with Cheddar cheese in place of the Swiss."

    Ingredients:
    3 cubes chicken bouillon
    5 medium potatoes, cubed
1 (16-oz.) package kielbasa sausage, sliced
    1 onion, diced
1 small head of cabbage, cored and sliced
    1 (12-oz.) can evaporated milk
1 lb. Swiss or Cheddar cheese, shredded
pinch of salt and pepper to taste

    Directions:
Place bouillon cubes, onion, potatoes, and cabbage into a large soup pot. Pour enough water to cover vegetables by about 1 inch. Bring to a boil, then simmer over medium heat for 15 minutes. Add the sausage and cook for an additional 20 minutes. Reduce heat to low, and stir in cheese and evaporated milk. Cook just until heated through and cheese is melted---do not allow the soup to boil. Remove from heat and serve immediately.
