Here is a really great recipe to liven up that little box of Rice-A-Roni!! It is really good.
Pilaf with Broccoli, Walnuts and Cheese
1 tablespoon margarine or butter
1 small onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 4.3 ounce package RICE-A-RONI® Long Grain and Wild Rice Original
2 1/2 cups broccoli florets
1/2 cup coarsely chopped walnuts, toasted
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese or crumbled gorgonzola cheese
In medium saucepan over medium high heat, melt margarine. Add onion and
garlic; saute 2 minutes. Add 1 2/3 cups water, rice mix and Special
Seasonings; bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low. Cover; simmer 20
minutes. Stir in broccoli. Cover; simmer 5 to 10 minutes or until white
rice is tender. Stir in nuts and top with cheese. Serves 4.
