    This is a basket to crochet and sew onto a bath towel. It holds a washcloth.

    Applique Basket for Bath Towel
    Materials: Bedspread cotton thread, Hook size 7

    Row 1: Ch 38, dc in 4yh st from hook, l dc in each remaining st of chain.

    Row 2: Ch 3, turn, l dc in each dc . Repeat the 2nd row 6 times.

    Row 9: Ch 6, turn, 2 dc in same space keeping last loop of each dc on hook, thread over and pull through all loops at one time ( a 2 dc cluster st), * ch l, skip 4 dc, 2 dc cluster st in next dc, ch 3, 2 dc cluster st in same space, repeat from * 5 timees, ch l, skip 4 dc, 2 dc cluster st in next dc, ch 3, dc in same space.

    Row 10: Ch 6, turn, 2 dc cluster st in same space with ch 6, * ch l, skip the ch 3 loop, 2 dc cluster st in next ch l loop, ch 3, 2 dc cluster st in same space, repeat from * across row ending row with ch l, 2 dc cluster st in 3rd st of end ch, ch 3, dc in same space.

    Repeat last row 16 times

    Next row: Ch 3, turn, 2 dc in lst loop, * sc in next ch 3 loop, ch 3, 2 dc in same loop (shell), repeat from * across row, ending row with sc in 3rd st of end ch, ch 3, turn.

    Next row: 2 dc in same space, sc in ch 3 loop of next shell, * ch 3, 2 dc in same space, sc in ch 3 loop of next shell, repeat from * across row then work a row of sc down side of basket to within 2nd row from lower edge, work a shell over side of next row, across lower edge and over opposite side of same row finishing remainder of side in sc, break thread.

    HANDLE: Ch 139, 2 dc in 4th st from hook, skip 2 sts of ch, sc in next st, * ch 3, 2 dc in same space (shell), skip 2 sts of ch, sc in next st, repeat from * across ch working l sc in end ch, 6 dc in same space, working on other side of ch work in shells to correspond to lst side. Break thread.

    EDGE: Ch 6, 2 dc in 6th st from hook keeping last loop of each dc on hook, thread over and pull through all loops at one time, ch 3, 2 dc cluster st in same space

    Row 2: ch 5, turn, 2 - 2 dc cluster sts with ch 3 between in ch 3 loop

    Row 3: Same as 2nd row, then ch and without turning and working across lower edge, work 6 dc with ch l between each dc in next loop, sc in lst ch made, ch 3, turn.

    Row 4: Sc in next ch l loop between next 2 dc, * ch 4, sc in next ch l loop, repeat from * 3 times, ch 3, skip l loop, 2 - 2dc cluster sts with ch 3 between in next loop, ch 5, turn.

    Row 5 and 6: 2 - 2dc cluster sts with ch 3 between in next loop, ch 5, turn

    Row 7: 2 - 2dc cluster sts with ch 3 between in next loop, ch 3 and working across lower edge work 6 dc with ch l between each dc in next loop, ch l, sc in next loop of previous scallop, ch 3 , turn. Repeat from 4th row for length desired. Sew to lower edge of towel. Sew basket in position on towel, leaving top of basket open for face cloth. Sew handle in position on towel.

    Edge for Face Cloth: Ch 6, 2 dc in 6th st from hook leaving last lop of each dc on hook, thread over and pull through all loops at one time, ch 3, 2 dc cluster st in same space,ch 5, turn.

    Row 2: 2 - 2dc cluster sts with ch 3 between in the ch 3 loop, ch 5, turn

    Row 3: Sl st in 3rd st from hook for picot, ch 2, 2 - 2 dc cluster sts with ch 3 between in loop between cluster sts of previous row, ch 5, turn. Repeat the 2nd and 3rd sts of previous row, ch 5, turn. Repeat the 2nd and 3rd rows for length desired. Sew around face cloth.
