How does one make PomPoms?

I need to make pompoms for the tops of the little hats for the girls. However, I cannot locate my pompom makers! Any suggestions?

Can't open the links but I usually just make 2 circles from a margarine container and cut a hole in the centre(looks like a plastic doughnut). Then I use my crochet hook to draw the yarn through until the pom pom is thick enough and cut the wrapped yarn around the outer circle then I get a piece of yarn and place it between the circles,draw it up tight. tie a knot, and slide it off. Fluff up the pom pom with a cople of shakes and it's done. You can make any size pom pom this way and I have been using this method for over 40 years. I used to use cardboard for the circles but plastic is better.(If anyone doesn't have a crochet hook you can always use a yarn needle)
