    Stuffed DOnkey Donkey
    Materials: KNITTING WORSTED, 2 balls (1 oz. balls) of Grey; Scraps of Red and Black Pearl Cotton . . . Bone Crochet Hook No. 6.
    GAUGE: 4 sc make 1 inch; 4 rows make 1 inch.
    BODY . . . Starting at back, ch 21 (to measure 5 inches). 1st row: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. Ch 1, turn.
    2nd row: Sc in each sc across. Ch 1, turn. Repeat 2nd row until 6 rows are completed.
    7th row: Sc in next 10 sc. Ch 1, turn.
    8th row: Sc in each sc across. Ch 1, turn.

    9th row: Sc in each sc across, 2 sc in last sc. Ch 1, turn.
    10th row: 2 sc in first sc, sc in each sc across. Ch 1, turn.
    11th and 12th rows: Repeat 9th and 10th rows.
    13th row: Sc in each sc across. Ch 11, turn.
    14th row: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across, sc in each sc across. Ch 1, turn.
    15th row: 2 sc in first sc, sc in each sc across. Ch 1, turn.
    16th row: Sc in each sc across. Ch 1, turn.
    17th and 18th rows: Repeat 15th and 16th rows.
    19th row: 2 sc in first sc, sc in each sc across to within last 10 sc. Ch 1, turn.
    20th row: Dee 1 sc, sc in each sc across— to dec 1 sc, work off 2 sc as 1 sc. Ch 1, turn.
    21st row: 2 sc in first sc, sc in each sc across to within last 5 sc. Ch 1, turn.
    22nd row: Repeat 20th row.
    23rd row: 2 sc in first sc, sc in each sc across. Ch 4, turn.
    HEAD . . . 24th row: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across, sc in each sc across. Ch 1, turn.
    25th row: Sc in each sc across, 2 sc in last sc. Ch 1, turn.
    26th to 29th rows incl: Sc in each sc across. Ch 1, turn.
    30th, 31st and 32nd rows: Dec 1 sc, sc in each sc across to within last 2 sc, dec 1 more sc. Break off. Make another piece the same as this.
    INSET FOR LEGS (Make 2) . . . 1st row: Ch 21, sc in 2nd ch from hook and each ch across. Ch 1, turn. 2nd row: Sc in each sc across. Ch 1, turn. Repeat 2nd row until 6 rows are completed. Break off. Sew Body pieces together. Sew inset to Legs. Stuff firmly with cotton. Sew up opening.
    EAR (Make 2) …Ch 14, dc in 4th ch from hook and in next 9 ch, sc in next ch. Working along opposite side of starting chain, make sc in first ch, dc in each remaining ch across. Fold Ear in half, sc along back between dc’s. Break off. Sew Ears to Head. Embroider Eyes, Nose and Mouth with Black Pearl Cotton.
    HAT . . . Using Red Pearl Cotton double, ch 2. 1st rnd: 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook.
    2nd rnd: 2 sc in each sc around. Work until piece measures 1 inch.
    Next rnd: 2 sc in each sc around. Work without increasing until piece measures 1½ inches in all. Break off. Roll brim back, sew Hat to Head
