Hope this goes through.I borrowed(?) it from another group.Thought it might come in handy for making presents for toddlers. It doesn't sound as good as Grandmadale's but it might give us some ideas.

A use for those out-grown jeans. Use only the parts that are stain free
and no holes or worn areas. All the jeans do not have to match. The
pages can be whatever size you can make from the legs of the jeans.
Soft Sided "Busy Book" for kids.
Use the jeans' denim for the "pages". Use pinking scissors to cut all
the pieces the same size, then sew a pocket on each page. Now with the
right sides together, sew across the top down one side and across the
bottom of two pages. Clip the corners, turn and press. Make as many of
these pages as you want. Pockets can be any kind of scrap fabric you
have on hand.
Now, lay the pages with the unsewn seams to the left and sew them
together down the side. If needed, trim with pinking shears. (this will
help to prevent raveling.
Put age appropriate items or toys in each pocket. Secure the pockets
with velcro or ribbon. with a ribbon or velcro.
Children will enjoy seeing what surprises are in the pockets.
