Learn how to paper piece with Dawn....

Paper piecing is a unique way to create quilt blocks that would have been considered impossible even a few years ago.
I will be off on Thursday and available all day to help with any questions as we go.
That day I will post instructions on how to actually make the block.

The pattern I selected is an easy one:

We are using the 3" version.

It can be used as a quilted coaster for your coffee afterwards
So select your colors... scraps are amazing for this type block. I have a couple of blocks over the years that used nothing but scraps and have made the craziest color schemes... and for this block I will continue the tradition All of said blocks were made while teaching someone online how to pp. One day I will have enough for a small wall hanging

Two things to do to prepare:
Print out the pattern and check that from dotted line to dotted line is 3.5 inches.
Cheap copy paper is best but newsprint is better.

Hubby will print mine at work and they use good paper so I will draw mine onto newsprint which also allows me to keep the original in my binder for reference years later

Those doing the BOM with me.... if you do not know how to pp... you will want in on this as a BOM coming up will be pp!

Ok, you are going to have to teach me how to do this, I wont be able to be here on thursday and who knows when I'll have time to do this at all! I havent even gotten aug BOM done!

ctc, the instructions will be here and when you are ready I will be here to answer all your questions One of the BOMs will be pp so you will want a little practice before I hit you with that one It really is easy once you learn how. You will actually be sewing onto paper and that throws some people off the first time. but it will be ok

thanks dawn! I just looked at the pattern, doesn't look any different than pp in scrapbooking, which is a plus for me since I have done that before!

I have not done it in scrapbooking so after your first bock you can tell me how similar they are

I have to run some errands in the morning but will start posting steps by noon central time.
