    Tomato Pie

1/2 pkg refrigerated pie crust (1 crust)
    2 large tomatoes, sliced
    1/2 t. dried basil
    1/2 t. dried chives
    1/2 t. pepper
    1/2 cup mayonnaise
1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

Preheat oven to 450. Fit pie crust into 9" inch pie plate as pkg. directs. Fold
edges under and crimp. Prick bottom and side of crust with a fork. Bake at 450
for 9 minutes. Reduce oven temperature to 350. Arrange tomato slices in crust.
Combine basil, chives, and pepper; sprinkle over tomatoes. Spread with
mayonnaise; sprinkle with cheese. Bake, uncovered, at 350 for 20 minutes or
until cheese melts and pie is thoroughly heated. Let stand 10 minutes before
slicing. Serve warm or let cool on wire rack.
