Hi...
I made these to take to a dinner at church tomorrow....I had to get them out of here quick before my hubby ate them all....they are just "sinfully" delicious! They would be great to make for the holidays...or to give as a hostess gift.
Enjoy!
hugs,
peg
Oreo Truffles
8 oz. package cream cheese, softened
4 cups crushed Oreos (16-oz. package)
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
1 TBSP vegetable shortening (like Crisco)
On the high speed of a mixed, beat the cream cheese in a bowl until light and fluffy. Add the crushed cookies and beat until well combined. Refrigerate the mixture for 2 hours, until chilled enough to roll. Roll into 1-inch balls.
In the top of a double boiler over hot water, melt the baking chips and shortening until smooth. Dip the balls into the warm mixture and thoroughly coat. Place on waxed paper to cool and harden. Store in the refrigerator.
Makes 2-1/2 dozen.
