They are cute and easy and don't have to be just used for that. My mom used them as money envelopses for the kids.
The supplies are:
A saucer (this is for the circle template; you might want it to be smaller or bigger than that)
Enough fabric cut out 5 five templates (you can use either different for each circle or the same fabric for them all)
Pins
Thread
Scissors
Directions
1. Find a wine glass and make sure that your saucer or circle template is a little bigger than the base of the wineglass
2. Trace out 5 circles
Tip: For some, my mom fussy cut four of the circles so that they had identical images in the centre of the circle. You can do this, or use different fabrics or designs.
3. Cut out said circles.
4. Iron all circles, then fold four circles in half and iron them flat.
Here' s what #4 should look like.
To simplify, I am lettering my colours. I will also use pictures. Sorry if they're blurry.
A=turquoise, B=black, C=red/white, D=blue, E=yellow
5. Place Circle A (the only one not ironed in half) with right side facing up.
6. [size=12]Place Circle B on ½ of circle A
[size=12]7. Place Circle C ½ on B and ½ on A
8. Place Circle D ½ on C and ½ on A
9. Place Circle E ½ on D and ½ under B
8. Pin everything together.
9. Sew 1/4 inch around the whole circle.
10. Make little cuts around circle (not quite to the seam)
11. Flip it so the right side of A is on the outside.
12. Say ta-da!
Here's hoping this makes sense.
